Common questions

Repairs FAQ.

Do you need to book or can I walk in? +

Walk-ins are fine for quick fixes (puncture, brake tweak, diagnostic). For anything that needs parts or more than 30 minutes of bench time, book ahead — we're usually at capacity Mon/Fri and most Saturdays.

What brands / motor systems do you work on? +

Bosch (all generations), Shimano EP8, Yamaha, Ananda, Bafang, and a handful of less common systems (Mahle, Specialized 1.1/1.2). If yours isn't listed, email us — 9 times out of 10 we can still help.

How much is a battery replacement? +

Depends on the pack. Rough ranges: mainstream 36V 10–13Ah packs $450–$750. 48V 14–20Ah packs $650–$1,100. Mid-drive custom packs (Bosch, Shimano) $850–$1,400. We only fit OEM or equivalent quality — no cheap rebadges.

Can I bring parts I bought online? +

Yes, with two caveats: you waive our standard parts warranty (the manufacturer's covers you directly), and the labour rate still applies. If the part turns out to be the wrong spec, you pay for the diagnostic time.

Do you do insurance-claim repairs? +

Yes. We'll give you a written quote with an itemised breakdown, photograph the damage for the claim file, and bill the insurer directly if they agree up-front. Quotes are free for insurance work.
